Ba Chi Canteen

Food: 10/10 Drinks: 8/10 Vibes: 7/10

Midwest Foodie: Ba Chi Canteen is the pork master of the crowded NOLA Vietnamese food scene. This place has pork belly spring rolls, bacos (Vietnamese tacos), and pork fecta vermicelli (that’s pork belly, BBQ pork, and chargrilled pork folks). By now you should know how much I love pork, so of course I was smiling throughout the entire meal. Shoutout to our waiter, very helpful and friendly with some great recommendations. Can’t tell you enough how much I recommend this place, will be back again! Two thumbs up

West Coast Boozer: Byob bb. Apparently they also have tapioca drinks of many different shades along with the standard drink menu (cola/lemonade/coffee/tea)…but if it’s a byob you best believe I’m bringing my own. There’s a small fee ($5) for wine – which gets you glasses and an ice bucket– but beer and anything else costs you nothing. I guess they want to get you as buzzed off your own supply as you get off their bacos?! This one gets a B for BYOB (and for going Back!)

East Coast Vibes: Great low key Vietnamese in a great uptown spot. A little hipper than your average neighborhood stop in, Ba Chi is set in what looks from the outside like a renovated house and its neon lights inside set the place aglow. The byob policy brings a little buzz to the place making it a great stop for groups…but could also work great for some soul searching pho time on your own. 7/10
