Midwest Foodie: Had a really great time here and ate some tasty sushi. First off, one of the best happy hours in the city. About $6 a roll and we got a complimentary octopus ceviche for sitting at the sushi bar. Our favorite was the fish taco roll with pico de gallo on top. When you think about it, Mexican food and sushi really aren’t all that different, and Chiba made the transition seamlessly. Filled my belly while going easy on my wallet! One thumb up.
West Coast Boozer: Blah. Went there for happy hour – really good deals that this med student doesn’t hate…..That said they were out of the requested fat tire and the sauv. blanc they brought kind of tasted like someone had been sitting on it for a while. They’ve got saki and cocktails that I didn’t try but my simple wine and beer pleas going unanswered didn’t inspire much hope…C
East Coast Vibes: It’s good! …and exactly that. The space is open and loftlike, feels very “we sell sushi” and its picture windows enable some good Oak street people watching. It’s a reliably good date spot but not the one you use to seal the deal 😉 6.5/10
