Midwest Foodie: I was so excited to eat here. Ethiopian food plus BYOB drew me in. I was really looking forward to eating injera, the traditional Ethiopian bread, but was really disappointed when we were served a dinner roll instead. We started with Oleh-leh as an appetizer, which is fried black-eyed peas, eggplant, and smoked fish. It was definitely interesting but got mixed reviews by our group. For dinner, we had Apricot Lamb that was pretty bland. Our server was very friendly and I enjoyed my time here, but the food itself was nothing special. One thumb down.


West Coast Boozer: BYOB bb! Byob and with no charge…but they only give you plastic cups and don’t offer an ice bucket to keep your byob’d beverage cool. I mean, I’m obv not above drinking wine from a solo cup…but the warm wine was a bit of a buzzkill. N/A

East Coast Vibes: Cozy, colorful and warm, Bennachin offers a nice little getaway on a tucked away French Quarter street. There are about ten tables so it’s an intimate spot. Except for the fact that they don’t actually sell hookah it’s got a mellow hookah lounge vibe that kept us cozy and not bothered by the rather long wait for the food. 7/10
