Midwest Foodie: Old school New Orleans done right. We went here for a special occasion; this isn’t the usual level of restaurant that we frequent. The food was tasty and very well done. Only reason it doesn’t get a 10 is because I got tricked! Not really, just ordered a crab puff pastry that came out with a little face that made me feel like the 5-year-old at the table (check picture below). Tasted great though! The Speckled Trout and Shrimp Arnaud were done magnificently as well. Oysters Arnaud is a great way to try each of their baked oysters. I had high expectations going in and they were mostly fulfilled. If you have the money or are looking for a special quintessential New Orleans dinner, this should be on your short list. Two thumbs up.
West Coast Boozer: Home of the French 75 bar! I felt like Jane Russell drinking in here. Had some fantastic wine and felt classy as hell drinking it. Huge step up from a late night at a dive bar! Try to get a table or hang out close to the jazz band, they killed it! Mr. Midwest had an Old Fashioned that I must say put some (more) hair on his chest if you know what I’m sayin’. A
East Coast Vibes: This was one of those wonderful dinners where you’re enjoying everything while simultaneously hoping to not get called out as a sham playing dress up. For a special evening Arnaud’s hits the sweet spot. It’s upscale without feeling over the top and old school without feeling stodgy and dated. Went here for Valentine’s and still swooning over this place (…and the man!) 10/10
