Mimi’s in the Marigny

Food: 7/10 Drinks: 6/10 Vibes: 10/10

Midwest Foodie: Tapas. I’m really not crazy about tapas. They never seem to really fill me up and end up being on the pricey side for a decent sized meal. The food options here are decent but nothing to write home about. I do give them credit for their “trust me” option, gives a little twist to the dining experience. I recommend the spiced duck skewers. Come here for the vibes, the food alone isn’t enough to bring you in the door. 7/10

West Coast Boozer: Honestly the drinks weren’t amazing but they were good enough to not bring down the evening at all. Solid wine selection and the bartenders can make you an old fashioned no problem, but no experimental cocktails or rare finds here. 6/10

East Coast Vibes: Nothing has made me feel more like a NO local than taking my visiting mother to Mimi’s with my new transplant friends. It’s in a beautiful spot of the Marigny that doesn’t feel touristy but does feel very old school New Orleans. The place itself is more bar than tapas restaurant – order food and drinks up at the bar and drinks you bring back to the table yourself. The place is full of regulars with a bachelorette crew mixed in – easy hop to the French market or spotted cat after for a full Frenchman affair! 10/10
